Insulin Resistance

Understanding how your body uses glucose

  • Insulin helps glucose move from your bloodstream into cells.
  • With insulin resistance, cells respond less effectively to insulin.
  • Over time, glucose can build up in the bloodstream.
  • Your health history, appropriate testing, and ongoing care help guide a treatment plan.

Our Approach to Insulin Resistance

A coordinated plan, built around you

  • Insulin resistance reversal treatment is a core focus at Insulinic.
  • Clinical evaluation comes first, before treatment decisions are made.
  • The program brings together infusion therapy, monitoring, and nutrition support.
  • Your provider explains the evidence, realistic goals, and options for your care.

The Problem

When cells respond less effectively to insulin

  • Insulin resistance is closely connected with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
  • It often has no obvious symptoms, so appropriate testing matters.
  • Persistently high blood glucose can affect nerves, kidneys, eyes, and blood vessels.
  • Healthy eating, physical activity, weight management, and appropriate medication can be part of your care.

Your Treatment Journey

Simple, comfortable, and personalized to you

  1. Comprehensive Evaluation

We review your medical history, A1C, current medications, symptoms, and goals. Your provider discusses any additional testing and whether the infusion program is appropriate for you.

    More about this step

Your care begins with a review of your health history, A1C and other available lab results, current medications, and day-to-day concerns. Tell us what has been difficult and what you hope to change. Your provider uses this conversation to discuss your options and whether the infusion program is appropriate for you.

Bring recent labs, your medication list, and glucose readings or CGM reports.

  2. Personalized IV Infusion Protocol

Based on your evaluation, your provider develops an individualized IV infusion plan. Treatments take place under clinical supervision at our Lafayette clinic while you relax in a recliner.

    More about this step

IV infusion therapy is a central part of Insulinic’s insulin resistance reversal program. Treatment takes place at the clinic under clinical supervision. Your provider determines the protocol for your situation and reviews the proposed treatment, monitoring, possible risks, alternatives, and expected costs with you.

Your team will explain your visit schedule, preparation instructions, and time needed at the clinic.

  3. Continuous Monitoring

Your care team reviews glucose readings, A1C, weight, blood pressure, and symptoms. Monitoring and follow-up help your provider evaluate your response and guide the next steps.

    More about this step

Monitoring connects your clinic visits with everyday life. Your care plan may include glucose readings, CGM reports, or remote monitoring when appropriate. Follow-up reviews can include A1C trends, weight, blood pressure, symptoms, and how you are tolerating treatment. Your provider uses this information to guide the next steps.

Agree on what to track, how to share it, and when your next review will take place.

  4. Ongoing Nutrition & Support

Our dietitian helps with personalized meal planning and nutrition education. Your care team stays involved with coaching, follow-up, and practical support between visits.

    More about this step

Nutrition support remains part of the program throughout your care. Dietitian coaching helps you work on meal planning, food choices, and sustainable habits that fit your preferences and routine. Bring questions about meals, activity, or challenges between visits so your care team can help you plan practical next steps.

Connect your nutrition goals with your diabetes care and weight-management plan.

About your treatment

Have another question?
Our team can help

What does the insulin resistance reversal program include?

The program brings together a comprehensive evaluation, personalized IV infusion therapy, monitoring and follow-up, and nutrition support. Your provider reviews your health history and discusses which parts of care are appropriate for you before a treatment plan is developed.

Who should schedule an evaluation?

You can contact us if you have questions about insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or related weight-management goals. A consultation does not automatically mean infusion therapy is recommended. Your clinician evaluates your individual situation and discusses appropriate options.

How long are infusion visits, and how often will I come in?

Visit length, frequency, and the overall course of treatment depend on your prescribed protocol. Our team will explain the proposed schedule and preparation instructions before you begin, so you can plan around work, transportation, and other commitments.

Will I continue my usual diabetes care and medications?

Continue your prescribed care unless your treating clinician changes it. Bring your full medication list to the evaluation, and discuss how the program will fit with your existing diabetes care. Do not stop or reduce medication on your own.

How does nutrition or weight loss fit into the program?

Nutrition coaching and follow-up are part of the clinic’s approach. Your team can help connect meal planning and daily habits with your diabetes and weight-management goals. Ask whether a separate medical weight-loss evaluation would also be appropriate for you.

What does “reversal” mean, and what results can I expect?

“Reversal” describes the program’s goal of improving insulin resistance; it is not a guaranteed result. Outcomes vary. Outpatient IV insulin therapy is not established as a cure for diabetes or its complications. Your provider should explain the evidence, limitations, and realistic goals of your proposed treatment.

What should I understand before starting IV infusion therapy?

Review the treatment being proposed, the evidence for its intended use, potential benefits and risks, alternatives, and how you will be monitored. Ask what symptoms to report and whom to contact between visits. The team should also explain the schedule and costs before you decide.

Does insurance or Medicare cover the treatment?

Coverage depends on the exact service and your plan. Medicare nationally excludes outpatient intravenous insulin treatment regimens under NCD 40.7. Coverage of other diabetes services is separate. Ask our team to review your benefits and expected out-of-pocket costs before beginning care.
